I still remember a flying dock start from the Indy jump ramp when the water ski tour came to Indy back in early 2000's .... he was awesome .... a showman, an athlete, and thanks to him and people like him, others have grown to love watersports ....
At least now, I like to think, he is on the longest stretch of glassy water possible. Rest in peace Mr. Blair!

RIP George :(
I remember his words...
"Age is a matter of mind, if you don't mind, it don't matter!"
Definitely somebody who is deserving of all accolades. Will be remembered and spoken of for long time. Peace.

Great ambassador for the sport, and a nice guy to boot. Got to meet him at the Bud Light tour in IL. Just think he was 98 years old! RIP.

What an absolute legend that man was. Thank you, Banana George, for bringing so many smiles to so many people for so many years simply by living your own life to the fullest. Rest in peace, sir.

Sad news for sure. I skied w/ an elderly bare footer for years. You have to be tough to do this late in life. Tough old birds (George would be a tough old Canary).

Just found out about George, my kids and I had the pleasure to meet him several years ago. He was a great gentleman. My sympathy's to his family.

Sorry to hear about his passing.
He was an inspiration to many for Water skiing but most of all to live life the way you want.
He refused to quit skiing because he was old, which kept him Young. :)

Every time I think I am too old to take some risks, I think about him (and that 72 year old lady in Ft. Lauderdale who could ski circles around me). RIP George.
