This last year is unfortunately coming to an end at it seems like everyone had a great season. What was your best accomplishment or memory. I'll start with mine. I was finally able to clear wake to wake and start on some tricks so coming into next year will be fun. We also got to stay on this hotel on the river with a huge indoor pool and slide. Had so much fun with the family. So what about you??

Riding with my son, for sure!!! It was so fun watching him get better and have so much fun doing it. And a great trip to the Shuswaps as well.

I think for me it has been getting comfortable with Toeside wake to wake, a selection of 180's and nailing heelside 360's.
Also pretty pleased that I tried my first invert (toeside backroll) not that I landed on the board, but it's a great starting point for next season!
I have had a great time at the cable too, hitting every obstacle they have with confidence!
Definitely a good year for me.

Taking two days to drive down to Kansas with my 13 year old to pick up our new to us boat and driving back. The excitement that she had that lasted a two solid days will probably never be repeated. That trip will never be forgotten.

Two things for me...we bought a new boat, it was so exciting to have the family begging me to go to the lake.

2nd was to see my 8 year learn to wakeboard and my 5 year old to learn to ski. Got a GoPro for my birthday...2014 season can get here soon enough so I can start capturing some of this stuff on video!

Great summer!!!

The best memories are always teaching people to ski. This year was a bit slow for us with only 3 new skiers added this year. They were 3.5, 5 and 63 years old

Spent 8 days on the water in Coeur d'Alene. Everyone in the family did something on the water they hadn't achieved before. We will most certainly be going back. Beautiful there.

Damn that is not a houseboat, that is a floating hotel :-)

Best memory for my family was that we finally were able to buy our dream house in a small community with direct access to my favorite lake with the slalom course. Too bad we were so busy moving in and getting the house in order I did not get to ski much. There is next Summer!

We had a somewhat rainy but great season that will most likely end this Saturday by pulling the Malibu Response we use for slalom. In contrast to the low lake levels experienced last year which ended our season on Pontiac Lake in second week of July we were able to use the lake all the way through September. Had just a ton of great times with the extended family and friends this year. Let's all hope for another great season in 2014!

I can’t pick just one thing for 2013:

1. Scuba trips to Grand Cayman, Maui, and Providenciales for Thanksgiving week...

2. 90% restoration of the Texas River Rat (my 93 PS205)

3. Third (and final) year as President of the best waterski club on earth – Metroplex Ski Club, where we really soared to heights not seen in years – 3 event and show ski, this club really made me proud this year.

4. Steady Job

There’s a few things I have extreme sorrow about, but but that’d be a totally different thread.

It's been an awesome summer...

Purchased our first boat as a family... 2001 ProStar 209
My wife got up on her first attempt and hadn't skied in 30 years
My 13 & 11 year old daughters both learned to ski
I got up on a slalom ski on my first attempt after 15 years
My wife successfully pulled me on the above mentioned slalom run (her first time ever pulling a skier)
My 13 year old has set a goal to learn to slalom next summer
We spent many hours on the water enjoying recreational watersports as a family!

Doesn't get any better!

Love to see & hear about all the young kids enjoying watersports! My best memory is setting a new PB this year. Worked my arse off in the gym all winter, dropped 11 lbs, and a few trips to FL.
How all that work equates to a one buoy increase is frustrating but it's what keeps me coming back!

First season with our boat:

All three kids (14, 12 and 12) up on wakeboards for the first time ever.
One son up on a slalom (deepwater start) first time ever.
Me up on a slalom (deepwater start) first time ever (at 50).
Many lazy hours on the sandbar, just floating, fishing, swimming and being together as a family with the distractions of the plugged in world.

hard to pick one. We had another amazing year of boarding and surfing. My wife spinning her first 360's on the surfboard, daughters landing backrolls. If I was going to pick one moment. It would be my favourite picture we do every year. We do a two week vacation in Vernon each year, and everyone that's with us for those two weeks we get a picture of them off of the back platform. We have the watersports wall downstairs with 12 years of those pictures now. It's awesome to see the kids grow from year to year and now having their own kids...

I skied with almost 100 different people this year with various disabilities. Many had stories I will never forget. Even the people who could not talk, you could tell they loved the experience. I will never forget that. There is a great video on our website www.colsacskiers.com

It's a toss-up for me:

my first ski run on my new knees (replaced last fall), realizing I can ski better than I ever did (only on glass, Dr. Schnaubelt!) The clinic is doing a testimonial on me and my experiences with my knee replacements at the end of this month...don't know if I should include my waterskiing in this;)

Getting 3 of my grandchildren (6,8,10) up on skis this summer...highlight of MY life;) And, having them love it!

Time with the family on the water and at the lake. New riders, new tricks and more enthusiasm. Great friends at the lake that made the rough spots a lot easier - thanks to them for the pulls, the mechanic time, the borrowed tools, the cool boat toys and the time together on the water. My 16 YO and I also spent several weekends at the lake lifting his 1997 GMC Jimmy. We'll never forget that.

Some great memories in this thread.

Well, we traded out an I/O and got a new MC this year so that set the tone for the whole summer, including learning how to wakesurf.

But the highlight was renting a large house on the lake and having extended family stay there. Lots of sun, fun, laughs, drinks, and experiences. And oh yeah, I fell in the lake with my 2 day old Samsung S4 in my pocket and it dried out fine, no problem!

Ok .... I bite ... great season ... my wife and 2 boys were awesome all year .... my buddy Hot4Teacher and his family were awesome ... so all Summer we had a PS 214 or X2 to choose from ... so we surfed, skied, swam, and then did more of it ...

My favorite memory? when Mattscraft, WillyT, came over to our Norris house and we shared Rum and Coke?

Surfing a sweet X-25 or seeing my little guy kneeboard it?

Buckeye Bash IV?

Salt Fork with DoubleD, JKSki, MGBOYD? ZSquare?

or my last ski run of the year? Hot4Teacher and my wife skipped work for a few hours and hit the course ..... great times and great memories .... but I did not ski near enough this year ....

Getting my 4 year behind the boat again. I scared her last year trying to get her up in trainers between my feet (like my dad did to me what I was 2). I think there was too much dragging and spray with the difference between 30 lbs and 290 lbs :o this year I took a softer approach and after 2 1/2 months of gently suggestiong, I had her behind the boat on a ski tube. I swore we would not buy a tube until the kids learned to ski, but this was a happy compromise. She wants to go constantly now! I can't wait till spring when she gets to go first like I did when the water was cold :D

Had a great year. Injury free (for the most part), boat ran great no down time at all, got in 34 ski days over the summer and my Dad drove me for the second part of the season after my driver got busy. I even increased my P.B. by 1 1/2 buoys to 3 @ 38 off. Wahoo!

A friend of mine had two kids that would not for love, money or threats of a whupping could get them onto anything last year. This year his 6 year old of his learned to wakeboard, ski and surf in ONE DAY! Once they are ready they are ready. Push to hard before that point and it just will not work. His 8 year old boy is now whining that his sister is whipping his butt and he is out in the cold water trying to catch up. He is up on skis.

Most memorable was a 1200 mile RV road trip we did this summer. We hit up 4 different bodies of water. Just the wife & I for the 1st half of the week, then met up with family and friends the 2nd half of the week. Great trip.

Mine was last monday which was my last day out. I had been working on HS wake to wake 180's for several weeks. Landed some, but not consistently. Landed 6 in a row. Had never tried TS w to w 180's. Landed it on my second attempt. So finished my final set with back to back HS and TS 180's. Boom. Done for the season. Really looking forward to next year already.

Our Summer was book ended with two epic water-ski trips. Ten days each, camping in our TC and the MC x14v. Both had unusually perfect weather (absolutely clear 90' days) and glass water with no boats, allowing us to get on the lake after 9am and continue to ski on an impromptu basis throughout the day. Chose a few pix of both trips---hoping for a repeat next year.

Photos 1 & 2 are Banks Lake in May.

Photos 3, 4 & 5 are Lake Entiat @ Chelan Falls / week prior to Labor Day.
