Well fellas,

After much reading on several threads, and discussing opinions with others here in the know, I narrowed my search down to a 205v/Xstar/X2/X1. I chose this for the size upgrade, the open bow ( a wife necessity), and of course the legendary wake and mild wake surf capability. I looked at several, both in person and some online followed with basic questions to the seller over the last 15 months, and I finally found one! After (today) 13 hours, 11 hours of driving 'round trip, + 2 hours doing my own survey, including their shop (dealer) walking me through step by step the Winterization of the vessel, I bought me a wake boat. 2002 Xstar, brand new interior, Perfect Pass, Aerial 5.5 sacs plumbed in the back (1100 lbs), stock center ballast, and a mild stereo. 520 hours (only real downside) and a tandem axle trailer. I am sure I will have many questions....

Very Nice Boat!! Congrats!!

PS 520 hours is not a lot, less than 50 hours a year or about 10 weekends on the water a year.. thats not bad.

Personally I LOVE that colour - black on white with chrome accents! The more I look at it the more I like it!!

Thanks Mark! I have always been told and understood that an engine (for something like an airplane or boat) is always better to have been run frequently to help the seals etc....I saw one just like this a few months back with only like 175 hours ('02) and I wondered about little use and prolonged storage etc. It was nice, but sold anyhow...

550 hours on an 02 is nothing. I had 400 on my 2008 Moomba 2 years ago it and it was just broken in. That is a sweet boat. Congrats.

Yep! I suspect this was the case with my boat as it stood for 2 years. I have had a real challenge getting it right and chasing issues. Fuel systems, electronic sensors etc I believe just need regular use. Mine is a 2001 and had 275 hours...

Upholstry looks very well done as well as like new condition boat! Probably due for reskinning ours next year but having a hard time finding shops with m/c experience. Do you know who/where the work was done?

You are going to have to change your name now though.

You'll love it. I had an 03 x2 till this summer. 500 hours is prob perfect. Used but not sbused usually equals we'll maintained. 10 years with the vinyl they used then would have been due for new vinyl. So new vinyl is a plus also.

Thanks All! I am super excited to give it a try, and start playing with it...Just gotta wait till April/May :(

I have lots of plans for it this Winter...Brand new Rev 8's, a Syn4 to power them, a WS HT4, and a WS420 to install. I have had this stuff for a year and a half, just didn't want to install on the Tristar knowing that I would be upgrading. I think I am going with 4 WS XS650's per recommendations here. The boat has a Rockford 10" sub installed already.
The dealer I bought the boat from is in Eugene, OR, so I can ask him who does his interior work if interested for your 205v, let me know...he had his guy redo it b4 selling
I wish I could change my forum name, but I'll stick with the Tristar roots, as it was my first mc and thought me so much about boating etc.

BTW, 1990 Tristar for sale....located in central WA...

He actually looked at it when another dealer in Eugene had it. They bought it from a auction and couldn't sell it for the price they wanted. Went back to auction and the dealer you got it from bought it. This is all hear say so don't quote me on it but I'm pretty sure thats the same boat. Congrats on the new boat! I think the 02 is the best year out of all of them. You in WA?

Yeah, I knew it was from an auction. Original price was a little high about 6 weeks ago....lets say I got a good deal :D
I live in Yakima, WA, central WA, apple capital of the world...From my research, the hull, tower, wake, etc were on par with some of the better ones, so, I'm stoked..

Welcome to the 205V hull club! Great choice. We surf no problem behind our 05 X2 (with added ballast of course.) My previous boat, an 01 X5 had exactly the same color scheme.
