I have a 94 that I use to ski the course (no tower). I want to upgrade the crappy system that is in there now. First thing that has to change is the fact that the boat has to be on for the stereo to play. I won't add hours for tunes. BTW the boat has 480 hours. I think I want to do a second battery in my ice chest location, fix the wiring, so I can use w/o operation, new speakers (4 I assume?), amp. and deck. What will I have to spend? Suggestions on equipment? I think I will use the same locations as I has now, I assume they are 6" rounds. My sound doesn't have to be killer as I won't blast it, but I want to upgrade what I have now w/o breaking the bank. The one speaker placed under the passenger seat (in the glass molded seat support) seems to be in a bad spot to get kicked or backed into w/ your heels, any input on a durable screen or speaker there? Any suggestions or help appreciated.

I want to do the same. Just bought a 93, with a cassette deck.

How much money are y'all wanting to spend? If you can do your installs and etc, you should be able to do it for about $300-$400. I put alpine 6.5" marines in my boat and an alpine head unit, it is very clean sounding and I love it for just sitting and listening. The speakers were about 100 a pair and the head unit was 130. Did all install myself and don't think you need an amp for interior speakers unless your wanting to go real extreme

I've been shopping this. My plan is 4 Polk db651 a Kenwood 555 u and a clarion 4 channel amp. If you shop it right this will be around 360ish.

I would assume you have 6.5" speakers. The polk db651's are a great choice or maybe a set of JL c2-650's. Even though the JL's are not a marine specific speaker they will still last several years as long as you don't drench then with water.

You can find both of those speakers on amazon for a pretty darn good deal at any given time. My one suggestion would be try and find a deck with 4v pre outs and don't skimp on the amp.

I have JVC HDR head unit with 4 Pioneer speakers right now. I want to upgrade to 4 JL MX650's and a 50x4 RMS amp soon.
