One of the things that I dread during the winterization process is pulling some of those stiff rubber hoses off to drain the water from the block, heater, shower, etc. More than once I have skinned my knuckles up doing this. A friend suggested pulling off these hoses after the engine is fully heated up. After the last run of the season I did this tonight and was amazed at how much easier all of the hoses came off. No blood spilled this time!:D

Never seen one of those but I'll tell you that when those hoses are warm they slide off so much easier! I can also tell you that wouldn't work in a few spots that I have to remove hoses.

A warm hose is more flexible; regardless, the hoses will slip on and off with ease...

Another great tip that I have never heard about. Thanks!

Instead of the using plugs, when we rebuilt my engine we used 5 valves that open like a water hose with a 90degree turn. I let the water out after every use.
