Hey guys. I got some gel for a couple minor spots on the boat in the spring thinking I was going to get to it during the season but I have had too much fun using it to fix the spots.

If I had the gel in a sealed container and didn't put any hardener in or anything should it still be OK to use now that it is fall?

Is there a way to tell if it isn't OK to use (will it be dried up, if not sealed properly) I haven't opened the container yet.

Thanks

It will be perfectly fine. I just wouldn't use too old hardener.

Typically the shelf life of gel coat is around 3-4 months at around 70 degrees. For every 10 degrees higher, the life is generally cut in half. You can refrigerate it to make it last a little longer, but you need to warm it up before you can use it. Fresh catalyst or hardener is a must as airwear said.
