Trying to buy a newer wakeboard. I have been looking really hard at the LF Trip. Older board is an O'Brien that is about 12 years old. I think it is a 134 or 138, I can't remember. Skill level of an advanced begineer comfortable with wake to wake jumps, 180s, etc. 5'8" and about 190 lbs. Height and weight wise should I look at the 138 or 142 Trip?

Thanks!

Ansley

Either would work for you. The bigger you go, board wise, the softer the landings. The only trade off with a bigger board is the higher swing weight; which at your level of riding is not really that noticeable. It'll only come into play when you progress into bigger spins, and you'll be used to it by then. Good choice on the Trip! It's a great board. Was the first board I really started progressing on. If it were me, I'd go with the 142. Keep ripping bro!

I would go with the 142 without a doubt. I am assuming you ride in the 20-22 mph range with the level you're at. With the 139 you will push a bit more water and probably need to speed up as you are pushing the weight range. The bigger surface area will benefit you more.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was leaning toward 142. Weigh a little more than I did 10 years ago...
