I just installed my new OJ 14.75 x 15.5 prop last night and ran it today. It was a huge improvement over the stock 14 x 20 prop. While I was changing it, I noticed a couple things. One was my old prop was bent on the back side a couple inches from where it mounts on the shaft. I did not even notice this until I removed it. The other was a blue plastic washer on the shaft. I was wondering what it is for and if it is doing any good. I did notice there is some kind of rubber gasket behind it in the shaft itself that looked to be a little cracked. Unsure of what the gasket is for too.

That appears to be what's left of a rope, check the colour of the material in the front part of the bush, see if it is the same colour, sure looks like melted poly rope.
The bush is lubricated by water flow.

I second that. That blue stuff shouldn't be there. Just the shaft and the shaft cutlass bearing - it's off white in color.
