So I had an errant board I mishandled go into the gel and tear up my transom decal. Not a problem have a replacement factory one.

Bought a wetsanding kit had 800 1000 1500. So I thought. The actual kit was filled with 600 not 800. So I have some deep sand marks that the 1000 didn't get out. I assume just grab 800 and start over. I already hit it with 3m perfect it II rubbing compund and perfect it II polish. It's looking good just still sand marks in couple spots.

So after all that what should I prep the decal spot with?

Acetone... or 100% isopropyl - Then you can mist a little distilled water if your not comfortable going right to surface... the distilled water will give you a little wiggle room

Yea I planned on using distilled water and 2drops of dish soap to give me little time. It's a ton of letters.

Wakeboard Edition
Mastercraft
Towboat of X Games. Which I am not so sure I may put in since they no longer exist. However keep it as factory as possible.

If you are still seeing 600 scratches then yes go to 800 then 1000. Do each grit in perpendicular directions so it is easier to see when you removed prior grit scratches. 1000 will usually take out the 600 scratches without a problem. The ones I have done I do 600 -1000- Super Duty Compound-Perfect It

Here ya go. Still deciding on the "towboat of the x games" portion. Started a thread in the general for a poll. I am
Leaning on removing it.

I agree, my opinion missed the poll..Take off the x-games portion
I think it would make a real "clean" appearance, while still maintaining the classic look you desire.

When I originally picked up the boat I took x games off. Just looked cleaner, but now since its a classic I wasn't sure if maybe the original look would grow on me.

Tough call. It looks good either way.
