View Full Version : 1991 Mastercraft Prostar 190

09-01-2013, 11:14 AM
850 Original Hours. 500 hours when I bought it.
Original interior with one crack in the jump seat.
351 Engine that runs great
New tires on trailer and new spare
Kept inside a garage since I've owned it (Sept 14, 2009)
I have the black Mastercraft note book that came new with the boat which has the owners manual, Transmission info, options booklet and it has a letter from Mastercraft asking the original owner how he likes he boat.
I am the 3rd owner. I believe the first owner was the owner of Pine Crest Marine in Indiana. He sold it to a guy who moved it to Texas where I bought it in 2009.

I added a new dimensions wakeboard tower with infinity tower speakers. This has been a fun boat but we are now looking for a little bigger one. This has been a very well maintained boat and wish to pass it on to someone else that will enjoy and take care of it as we have.

$11,000 OBO
Thank you

Did this end up selling?

I just bought a very similar boat in similar shape just last month out of Iowa. Same year, same color scheme, same black single axle trailer, same engine, no tower, about 220 less hours but original manuals lost.

I wouldn't be surprised if this one if still for sale. It seems many boats that were listed towards the end of the season (on CL and otherwise) are still being reposted looking for buyers. It's the season to buy I suppose!

Is that a 285hp HO engine? Transmission?

Is that a 285hp HO engine? Transmission?

The transmission is a Velvet Drive Model 10-17-202 1:1 Ratio Serial number 1292.

Engine is an Indmar 350 I believe and the book doesn't give a HP rating.

Distributor at the front of engine. That would be a Ford 351.

Well. Wait a min. I just looked through my book and it says its a Ford 351 240HP.

It is a 351. That oval sticker on the breather cover had me wondering if it's an HO.

The cylinder heads will have 3 lines on them if it is an HO.

Yes they will. Just wondering what the sticker say.

Three vertical bars = GT40
Four vertical bars = GT40P

Additional identification also stamped inside the valve covers on the head and on the outside of the head labeled "GT"

Both produce a standard 285 HP engine

Correctomundo ;)

Did you want me to tell you what the sticker says?

I believe that sticker says "Limited Warranty". Mine no longer has that sticker. The "285 HP" sticker is on the side of the plastic cover by the coil.
