I'm pretty sure I have the worst design for a back seat that mastercraft ever made. It just a big cushion with no support. Does anyone know if the prostar 190 backseat would work for my boat. Does anyone have a pic of a 190 with the backseat pulled out. Also does anyone have a pic of just the backseat from a prostar 190. I believe my 2000 sport star has the same hull as the 94-97 prostar 190. Thanks

Sorry to tread jack...but trust me when I say that the 96 prostar may have the worst back seat and aft floor section.

Sportstar was 95-97 hull sold bare bones iirc. Different interior. My advice would be to get something made to suit your wants.

I have seen a flat bench in the prostar that rests on the wells. It looks like the same distance in between the wells on my boat.

This is the seat in my 96 prostar. As you can see the wrap around in the corners allows the rear seat to sit on top to form the sun deck.

Ricord,

You are correct that the seat can be used as a sunpad...the problem is that the seat base cannot support any weight whether its in the sunpad and/or standard seat position. I had to build a base to support the seat under the cantilevered area.

Have you made any provisions on yours?

Different boat, different back seat, but this (http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=54881)is what I did. It's comfortable with the right seat foam (try before you buy, I used two densities) and the added storage is great. Two anchors with line, two tow ropes, first aid kit, tool kit plus spare parts box, two fenders, flush hose and rags for wiping down all fit in the storage space.
Construction was straight-forward.

You can make something (anything really) and it will be better than that for a seat.

My boat is different, but the PO made these and I really like the idea and set up for skiing. They placed a cooler in between.

Mine's still stock, and it sags a little in the middle, but not too bad yet. It's actually still pretty sturdy, although we're pretty careful with how much weight we put in the middle. It mainly gets used as a sunpad, but everyone knows not to stand in the middle.

I had the same exact back seat in my 99' Sportstar up until this last winter I built a new seat, with Cedar, Starboard, and new cushions.

check out my thread, the link is page 6 the finished project.

This is the backseat from my '99 SportStar and I know it was original:
