Tapatalk search is not great, so I apologize knowing full well the answer to this question is available somewhere.

So my mechanical advance was frozen. I broke the plastic piece that the weights slide in for the advance. I have a new distributor on the way. Question: is the mark on the crankshaft TDC or 10* BTDC? Also is timing in these BEFORE TDC or BEHIND TDC? Since I have only one mark how can I. Find my degrees off TDC? Does anyone sell a sticker?

Most balancers are incremental marked starting at 0, which should be a thicker line. Timing is 10 before TDC . Since your balancer is not marked at 10 and only at 0 you will need a timing light that has an advancement dial so you would use the 0 mark and adjust off that.

You have saved me again! I forgot that there were lights with an internal adjustment. I have never had this issue and always had markings on my balancer. I thought about the before and behind question and it is an obvious answer considering these are N/A motors with an advance.

Thanks again!
