Thought I would do this myself on new to me x25. I dont see any way the drain hose gets out the back drain hole. Am I missing something or does everyone pump it out. Thanks in advance....

Just did one on my 25. Just pump it out. Very easy to do.

I have only changed mine on the lift, so I haven't tried to go out the transom plug. I just hook my pump up to the hose and suck it right out. 15 minutes for an oil and filter change and zero mess. It is the easiest thing I own to change oil on.

Any pump you guys would recommend, or anything do?

You could probably use anything that will pump the oil, but I really love this - Oil Pump (http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Johnson-Pump-Insta-Lube-Oil-Changer-Kit&i=99162&str=oil+pump&merchID=4005). It's kind of pricey, but it is awesome!

Drain hose doesn't stretch out my transom plug either. I got a brass fitting that screws onto the end of the oil drain hose, with a 3/8" tubing barb on the other side and added a couple feet of tubing. When it's oil change time, I unscrew the cap on the drain tube, screw on my extension, drop the end of the extension out the transom and into an empty 5 quart oil container, and come back the next day. No muss, no fuss, no pump.

I extended this tube thinking it was a oil drain line. Didnt get a drip after fake a lake. Am i in left field?

Get one of these- http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000JFJM14

I haven't looked at my drain hose since I started borrowing the neighbors. :)

I really hate to burst your bubble, but these have been around for a few decades-

Yours has the advantage of not making you worry about the oil dumping all over the interior of your boat, though.

This is the one I use, fill it up with air compressor for suction. Made some attachments like Xtwenty
