One clean, def rare, naked 205V.

What's with the single piece rear bench behind the drivers helm? Never have seen those two seat bases as one cushion. 99 was only year rear bench was one piece.

The rear seat cushion configuration is no different from my '03 X2 or any other 205V I've seen in that period.

Nice boat OP.

Thanks for all the comments- appreciated. Quite honestly, pricing has been more of an art than a science in this market. Most importantly, I am simply looking to price this boat as fairly as I can for someone to enjoy a great 205V. While I am not in a position where I have to sell, I am motivated by the thought of moving toward a pure direct drive. I have had suggestions to price from the high $20s to low $30s with the trailer. I am open to any resonalble suggestions from all of you on where this boat should be priced. It is not perfect, but close- I just started having an issue with the speedo- perfect pass works great. Trailer has a small rust buble under rear light, but other than that, it is in excellent condition.

Most every single 205v/XStar I have seen , except the 99, has a 3 piece rear seat base config. One over the compartment behind the driver, one over the tray, and one over the passenger corner. Maybe I missed something or it changed twice during their production.

His has one long piece covering the driver compartment and middle tray and one in the passenger corner. Only 2 pieces. I thought they didn't do that til they rebadged it the X1

Engine is the 310 TBI according to link.

Beautiful boat for sure but I think $30k is a little rich for something 12 model years old with no tower. I'm thinking mid $20k range.

My 2001 X-star also has this configuration.

That is the seat configuration from 2001 on I believe. 1999 had the one piece back seat without the wraparound seating, and it was 3 pieces in 2000. I would imagine the center piece flies out of the boat when trailering in the 2000 model. The center/starboard piece of the rear seat in my 2003 tries to fly out if I don't have the cooler in front of it.

The seat will blow out in an 03 x2. Trust me mine blew out when boat was 3 weeks old. Never found it had to buy hole new seat $$$$$. Trailered with curtain in from that point on.

Yeah, luckily I notice mine about to blow out on the interstate when I first bought the boat. Now I have a large cooler I always leave in the floor in front of the seat and it keeps the air from getting under the seat in the middle and lifting it up.

Why did you have to make that repair? Is the tranny questionable or did you hit something? Also are you will to take less? There is the same boat in new York but a 2004 with only 90 hours and he is asking only 26900.

Thanks

There is a 2001 xstar on only inboards for 30k. My opinion (which you asked) a good price would be 22-25

I am interested in your boat but 29,000.00 is too much, would you consider lower?

jamisonsbrodie
08-15-2013, 12:41 PM
$25K max IMO. You can get an 07 X1 for $34k locally. Midwest had a mint newer 210 with 90 hours and factory ballast (no tower) in May for $30k. Now it's August. Yes the MN market has higher prices than nationally, but $25k is still well above average retail value.

Guys- I have found a boat that I am interested in purchasing and I am dropping the price of the 205V to $27,999. Perhaps this is where it should be priced- I am not sure- just trying to set a fair price. Both of my local inboard dealers have suggested this boat should not be priced for less. I do want to note my main speed has stopped working- perfect pass works great and the paddle wheel spins so it is suggested the a loose connection. Other than that, this is a very clean boat with low hours.

If your dealer thinks it should go for that then why don't you see what they will give you for it.

MC4EVER
08-15-2013, 07:42 PM
They would give me $26,000 on trade. At 6.5% sales tax, that is the equivelent of $27,807 for someone to buy it from a dealer vs private party here in MN. I appreciate the advice BWB-745, but I have loacted a boat I am very interested in and I am just trying to price this as failry as I can.

Guys, I am adjusting my price one last time upon the advice of several members on this forum. I am willing to let this boat go at $25,999 firm- as is. If I dont sell it this fall, I will keep it for this price. Please let me know if you have any interest and thanks to everyone for thier input. I am happy to send video to anyone interested.

Good luck with the sale...if it had been around July 4th I'm sure this boat would have been gone already. I think the $25k range is fair given the apparent condition of the boat and desirability of this hull.

Aric's X15- until now, I have been patient with your posts, thinking perhaps I was taking your motive out of context. At this point, I think you have proven me wrong. I am not sure what your intent is here in posting yet another link or comment suggesting I am unfairly priced. I am not sure of the seller's circumstances in Texas, or to why they may be selling their boat. I do know that I am trying to list a very nice 205V at what I now believe to be less than it is really worth, taking the season into account. I might also add that there is a 01 205V newly listed on our site for $27.5. You dont see me posting a link or disguising myself in posting a link to my boat on their site, do you. That wouldnt be ethical, or represent a fair market. Your signature suggests that you are boatless... if this boat in Dallas is an exceptional buy, perhaps you should snap it up and put an end to whatever it is you are doing.

Normally i'd be on your side 100%, but you did say on the first page that you were open to suggestions on pricing. That's a good way to open one heck of a can of worms in my opinion.

BudmanV24- that is a fair observation. My intent is not to continue to bash Aric'sX15 or alienate him in future posts. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and often times we have to agree to disagree. I simply felt there was unjust motive here, poor timing, or both, and wanted to put an end to the situation as I saw it.

No hard feelings. I do have a boat for sale that I now believe is fairly priced. Some might sell a boat like this for more, others less- I think we have examples of both. Hopefully someone will be in the market for an exceptionally clean 205V to be used as a family crossover- without a need for a tower. If so, this is the perfect boat, and I am not trying to market it as anything but that. Thanks for taking the time to present the other side- I am not above a genuine apology if it is truly warranted.

Aric'sX15
08-26-2013, 03:59 PM
It's not an exceptional buy, and if your boat was priced fairly it would have sold. I owned a 205V for 10 years, and bought it new for that matter so I know how much its worth. Just trying to show you market value for your boat is a little off for what youre asking. I bought my 15 brand new in 2010, and sold it recently, for what I saw was a fair price and it sold in less than a week. Ive been to this selling rodeo once or twice, so my opinion is educated and not unjust. Considering you did ask for an opinion, im just trying to get you in the ballpark of selling prices. That 01 with a tower will never ever sell at 27.5, but he also didnt ask for my opinion. I also have a good friend that picked up his 100 hour 06 x1 for 30k. And the 01 star in my area is over priced.

I am just showing you what is out there for around the same price point. If you feel my opinion is unjust then so be it. Not trying to be unethical, nor crap on your for sale post. You wanted opinions, you didn't get the opinions you wanted. So I see you getting upset. Good luck with your sale.

How are prices on these doing this year? I know california is normally high but I have seen fully loaded X-stars go for less than this one in california over this last summer? Drought really pulling down pricing or just normal price ranges?
