my new to me 01 xstar will not fit in mt 7' garage door. did a google search and found most people made them fit. pro flight tower only folds rear and rests on pylon. any mods you suggest or do they make a after market tower that will fold down to windsheild height?

try deflating your tires or putting on a massive drop hitch. i hate aftermarket towers so please dont destroy the lines of that boat! haha

how many inches you think i could gain with a drop hitch and deflating tires? i didnt measure but i was a good 4 to 6 inches to tall. no angle to driveway.

New Dimensions towers look to fold to almost windshield height: http://www.newdimensiontowers.com/galleries/mastercraft/1999-2000_Prostar_205.html

I have the 01 205v, same boat. Have the new dimension tower and it fits in my garage. Believe my garage is 7' as well. Do you have the stock trailer? I can measure the height tomorrow if you like.

Stock mastercraft tandem trailer. From my research it should fit. It would really help if it didn't rest on pylon.

You might just have to remove the upper part of the tower at the point where it hinges..

Any suggestions on how big of drop hitch I can go for a Chevy Tahoe which will still allow jack to work?

It sounds like you have a different tower than the stock one if it folds backwards.

I have the stock new dimension tower on mine. I have to take the hitch off the truck and lower the jack all the way down and push the boat in the garage.

I have the 01 pro flight tower. Thought that was what mastercraft used in 01.

I'm totally confused now because mine isn't a new deminsion tower and from my understanding came this way. Mine doesn't hinge like yours in front.

Did the prior owner swap the hinge point? Do have photos? Not familiar with your tower.

^^^^^^^^This.

Can you take a pic of your tower? If it is factory I believe it folds forward not back. Maybe the previous owner reversed the quick release hand bolts.

I Was able to eliminate JRW's push in step by buying the Reese adjustable hitch from Autozone. When I know it's going in the garage I just drop the hitch before I hook it up and viola.

I have that tower Jrw just posted above this. It's on the 99-00. It's fits in 7ftr no problem. Also the tandem trailer is inch or two lower than the single. So something is wrong.
