On Monday, we had 52 boats at 3 Wake the World events serving 215 kids on a single day! 8 in West Virginia, 14 in Texas and a whopping 30 in Oregon! The kids were from foster homes, children's group homes, and the juvenile court system. I have heard several inspiring stories over the past couple of days.

Thank you so much to the awesome boat owners that make this possible. Next week there will events in NC, TX and Illinois. We will have our first event in Canada Aug. 14th.

Very cool! Is there still an event planned for the Denver area?

Fantastic. I think our family may have gotten as much or more out of participating in the Alabama event as the kids.

If there's one of these nearby you, I'd encourage you to support it. It's a long day but just wonderful.

We need some extra boats for the Illinois event on August 6th.

I know short notice. If anyone needs info on how to sign up send me a PM (not sure if wtw jumps on here much) and I will forward you the event planners email address.

Last I heard we have 11 boats right now. MC of Chicago is bringing a boat.

My WTW Oregon family!

Such a fun event. Start the day launching, pick up your family, boating, lunch, swimming, soccer, new clothes, new shoes, boating, dinner, band, awards, backpacks, school supplies, send off. My family for the day, we bonded. 'Best day of the Summer'!

Have you considered having a pastor at as many sites as possible to assist in providing leadership and counseling for those involved? I'll send you my résumé. Talk about never having to 'work' another day of your life. I'm quite serious.

Wake the World has no paid staff, everyone is a volunteer. It is up to each event coordinator to decide how to run their day. 70% of the events have a guest speaker to deliver an inspiring testimony.
I go to as many events as I can, but unfortunately I have to work to pay for it....
