anyone ever replace there trailer bunks? If so how important is it to duplicate the factory angle cuts on the 2x4's. I didn't realize they are not just standard 2x4's but actually have compund cuts on each side. I also see Cabelas has Bunkaps that are attached over 2x4's, perhaps they would conform to the hull and eliminate the need for angled cuts.

I am not sure on this one however, you could probably get your answer from Jim@BAWS or possibly call any other known MC dealer.

I replaced mine last sesaon. I didn't notice any angled cuts. There is a twist in the 2x6x12 though. The angle-iron supports and the weight of the boat take care of this. Just use the old board to mark the bolt pattern in the new one. I also recommend 1 layer of carpet on the top of the bunk only, then wrap a second layer around to the bottom of the bunk. Stainless staples hold fine, no need to glue IMO.
