Purchased this lady new in 2002. Low engine hours at 190 and thankfully no major issues through the years...until this past week at Lake Tahoe (elevation 6,200 ft.). Previous outing 6-weeks ago on Sacramento Delta (nearly sea level) and no problems. Prior to putting in at Tahoe you must go through a mandatory ballast flush with 140 deg water which we did same as last summer. After flush we put in with no problems. Engine start up on first turn. Idled normally in no-wake zone at 600 rpm. No unusual engine sounds. When we reached fast water and accelerated engine seemed to bog down in hole shot and would only hit 35 mph and 3,600 to 4,000 rpm on top end. Normal top end speed for this boat is 50 mph. Ran boat for 4-days and limited usage to sightseeing only. Oil pressure was normal at 40 psi. Temp never exceeded 160 F. Could hot water flush or elevation be part of the problem? Have a diagnostic scheduled with MC dealer next week. Ideas on what I might be looking at will be most appreciated. Will do right by my lady but don't want to build a new engine. You all know the drill!

6,200 feet is the issue. Too much prop for that altitude.

Puzzling part is we didn't encounter this issue last summer. Thought that most fuel-injected engines compensated for higher altitude with barometric and manifold absolute pressure sensors.

Can anyone shed some light on these sensors?
