Took a mini vacation from work and went to my parents place in northern wisconsin. Since they live on the lake, I took advantage of the dock space, tied up my boat and tore down my trailer for a rebuild.

New chains, bunks, wiring, LEDs, paint (enamel/reducer/hardener) sprayed from a gun, winch, guide pads, tires, and hardware. Happy that my trailer is now like new again. Grinder all the surface rust off and used etching primer prior to respray. Any questions, just ask!

Where did you get your leds from? And were they an exact fit? My trailer lights are rectangular and take and take up the whole spot on the end of the step side.. looks very nice by the way..

What did you do your grinding with? I'm trying to decide if I should do a flapper disk on my angle grinder or sand blast my 1984 trailer. How long did it take you?

I have used the 3M Roloc Discs on a lot of projects over the years where the rust isn't too extensive. They work great.

LEDs actually came from a Menards in Rhinelander, WI. They were a direct replacement and popped right in.

tires are Radar Angler RST21. I think the size equivalent is a 225/75/15...

i did use a flapper disc grinder, with a 40 grit 4.5" pad, and moved my way up. Then i used an oscillating hand sander with 120 up to 400. There are only a few places where you can still see a grind mark or two, but it really helped get that surface rust off. There was a lot.

It's a small world. I used to get through Middleton all the time years ago in an outside sales position, and one of my brother's has a place on Manson Lake just a few miles West of Rhinelander. If you get the need for new wheels to go with the restoration, shoot me a PM.

I've never explored the waters over near rhinelander, but I am familiar with the Minocqua area. My parents live on the chain there. Wonderful lakes. If I wasn't already in the dog house for restoring my trailer and spending money, I'd be all over the wheel idea. I'd love to spring for some, but maybe next season. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks! Small world indeed.
