Hi, just removed the light assy from speaker tower cans as light had stopped working. What part needs replacing, the light assy as shown or does the globe only need replacing, if so how do i disassemble this part, would appreciate some help from those in the know thanks

Surely the bulb comes out the back? I have no experience with this so I don't know but I would think the bulb comes out. Do you have a picture of the back?

Here is a pic of back, just not sure if these are sealed units or can be pulled apart

You will see a couple of screws on back plate

Have you tried taking the bracket off and taking the screws out?

The mounting plate comes off with a open end wrench and Allen wrench. Remove the screws that hold the chrome metal plate from housing. Careful since there is a rubber gasket between light housing and metal cover plate. If I remember correctly the bulb is held in place with a screw. Loosen the screw and bulb comes out. I replaced mine with sylvania silver star. They are bright.

I had similar to that - bulb is cemented in some type of ceramic type polymer - I ditched them and went with an LED lightbar -

IF you manage to get the old bulb out, here's a suggestion when installing the new one. Do NOT handle the bulb with your bare skin--wear a glove (cotton/cloth) or use a handkerchief. This is because most of these bulbs are quartz halogen and the oil that your skin leaves behind will shorten the life of the bulb--usually ends with shattering. FYI, same applies when changing a quartz halogen bulb at home.

Thanks for help guys, job done. After I was quoted $300 for a bulb from the MC dealer i went to an auto accy shop, and bought the bulb for $10, so i bought 2 and replaced them both today. Easy job and now i will stuff some sound filling into the tower cans
