PS at a dollar a tune, hope pops knows about this, or maybe these are the free one's?

Whats Itunes, and why would you light a compact disk on fire?

You should probably ask your question on the malibu boat owners board. Those young hip gen x'rs are probably better equipped to answer these types of questions.

I've got a small threadjack

last CD I burnt was the Sammy Hagar one posted above....

downloaded
ripped to wav
burned to disk on 52x CD portion of a DVD burner

the CD skips

what gives?
burned too fast?
multi-tasking?

the wavs sounded good, no skips
the mp3's sounded good, no skips
Same CD-R's I've used for months with no problems.

All my songs are the free ones. I only put them into itunes becuase it is easy to use and organize. And when i get my ipod i can put em in there.

Oh and Im not a 100% rap guy. I like Tom Petty, Led Zepplin, The Eagles, u know that kind of stuff. It is about 70% rap and 30% other.

I think my dad would like you guys. He hates rap.

I didn't even get to finish my sentence when asking for 2 12" Subs. He shot that down pretty quick.

My brother had 2 12"s in his Jetta and, maybe thats why he said no.

But in my room I have 8 speakers in a realtively small area with a huge subwoofer, pops hates it.

I didn't even get to finish my sentence when asking for 2 12" Subs powered by a huge amp in my car that is capeable of making the windows break. He shot that down pretty quick.

My brother is trying to figure out how to route the wiring in his 2003 Mazda 6 for 2 sony 10's. I haven't looked at it because he lives 10 hours away, but he said that it is going to be a pain to run a power wire from the battery to the trunk. Are you seeeing the same issues in your 3?

I am trying to talk the wife into letting me buy this:

My dad is not letting me put subs in.

But, my neighbor works at a car audio store doing stuff like that all the time. I'll ask him and see what he says.

PM me with some more details if you can. The more specific, the better.

Parks, check some of these albums/cds out. Yes, I know you said i-tunes, but I'm a big picture guy. Don't cherry pick songs. Get the whole album or you're missing out.

Kool Keith - (Dr. Octagon)
Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory
Brand New Heavies - Experience Vol. 1
Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique.

I'm not a huge rap fan, but I'm a music fan, and the above is truly excellent stuff.

Now you're talking! "From out the South, so what you talking 'bout!" :headbang:
I got a metal mix CD that I made that pumps me up when I'm in the gym or jogging or getting ready to ski. It has that P.O.D. song on it and this one I got off iTunes, which REALLY rocks and is my current favorite :

DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS, DISTURBED, QUEEN OF THE DAMNED SOUNDTRACK.

And like East Texas, I like some of the rap too, though a limited selection... As long as it has a beat and a little melody - and not just some punk spitting out hatin' rhymes - it's cool.

Whatever you're listening to Parks, keep on rockin... It's ALL good :wavey:

I believe that Outkast's rendition of "The Rooster" on what turned out to be the final episode of Chappelle's Show to be aired was a moment of rap/hiphop/whatever greatness.

I did break down for my son and we put in a 10" sub. Had one extra from the media room. We put in his trunk, held in place with bungie cord, tapped into the two speakers behind the rear seat and used a DC-110v convertor to power it since it was for house use. Sounds....well he likes it! I call him thumper....

Maybe the guys on the monster stereo threads would know the answers better, but maybe someone here knows.

The below table shows typical noises and their decibel levels, and shows the decibel levels for a couple of mastercraft boats.

My real question is, what type of decibel levels are the monster stereos people are putting on their boats cranking out to be heard so loudly over the engine noise?

Especially when you take into account that something at 20 decibels is 10 times louder than something at 10 decibels. Something at 30 decibels is 100 times louder than something at 10 decibels, etc..

I've often wondered when I've heard the music from the wakeboard boats halfway across the lake, with all the speakers on the towers, exactly how much damage was being done to peoples hearing.

It's gotta be major.

Workin' 4 Toys
10-14-2005, 10:00 AM
No damage here. Most of the sound is directed up or out. Its possible my music is louder 1/4 mile behind my boat, than inside. Although we may fix that someday. Between subs, mids, and tweets, our boat has 17 speakers, and pumps 700 watts. Just enough for AC/DC. But not enough for POD or Trick Daddy.;)
