visual difference between 4010 and 4160? If im lucky enough to have the 4160, what size power valve? and upgrade to prevent blowing valve from a back fire?

The simplest way to tell is the 4010 has duel fuel inlets on the starboard side. The 4160 has an angled fuel inlet on the front of the carb. I'll let the more seasoned carb experts tell you the rest. I do know there are some threads that mention the mod. to prevent blowing the power valve if it backfires. May find that in a search. Photo is of the 4010 (stock photo from Summit Racing).

Yes, I believe you would have to dismantle at least part of it to tell. Involves drilling out a small passage. Holley's website has a lot of info. Get the carb. list no. off the upper right part of the air horn (stamped into metal). All the part sizes and rebuild kit etc. are listed here at this link. You just have to know the list number of your carb.

If u have a 4160 . To remove the power valve u remove the four float bowl bolts on the front of carburetor. Be carefull not to damage gasket. Then use a sharp point screw driver to remove metering block . The power valve screws in the back of it.

Instructions for power valve check ball kit are included. If it has been updated, you will be able to see the plug in the power valve passage.
