View Full Version : Temperature Gauge question

I have a 2004 X-10 with the MCX. Last Saturday both my RPM gauge and my temperature gauge quit working. Took them out, cleaned connections, checked for power, etc. Still nothing. The digital readout on the RPM gauge still works fine. The needles on both vibrate when ignition switch is powered, but then I get no reading. The RPM gauge is not a huge deal as I can get a reading from my PP if I need it. My temperature gauge is the only thing that concerns me. My question is, does anyone have any idea if the computer can still read the temp with the gauge out, ie will the engine alarm sound/ limp mode engage if the engine overheats?

I've read on here that those gauges are not very reliable, but I have had the boat for almost 10 yrs now with no gauge issues. It just seems odd that both would quit at the same time.

Mine had a very similar issue. No analog temp or tach gauges - all connections good. I replaced the MMDC board under the dash with a new one ordered from Medallion and all is good.
