I have a '84 with a power slot. Where can i find the specs on it? I am looking a doing a 393 stroker and wanted to know if it would handle the HP and TRQ increase.
Thanks!

PCM 240 HP
Adding 100-150hp will not be a problem for boat or transmission. beyond 400hp might be overpowering the transmission.

If you're looking for a go fast boat this ain't it. Very likely near 50 mph is all it'll handle, especially with a power slot transmission, without big hp and a better transmission, prop, etc.:twocents:

IDK what kind of limits the transmission can actually handle, but there are3 different versions of transmissions, what is your model number?
71c 10-17 is good for ~255 hp
72c 10-18 is good for ~380 hp
73c 10-06 is good for ~560 hp

all these numbers came out of the manual.

I have a 71c 10-17 1:1 non reduction transmission in my boat and have about 100 more horses than stock (250 hp) and my transmission operates normally.

Thanks for the info. You really are a huge help around here. Do you know if the 72/73c are direct bolt up?

I do not know, but I would think with the correct bell housing they would...
