I've seen them cussed and discussed here quite often. I happen to like mine, but alas, it's given it all for the cause and needs to be replaced. If any haters have one that they would like to be rid of, please respond or send me a PM. Pictures would be great if you have them.

are you looking for the whole mechanism or just the rubber bumper?

See my listing. I have one for sale. Nothing wrong with it just used a bow roller instead

I'll stand in line as a second person interested in a used no longer needed boat buddy - Mine no longer works as it should (wish it did).

I jumped on the ramp-n-clamp thing, and my old BB will be available after my first trip to the lake.

I hope I am not out of line here but if you like the convenience of an automatic latch please consider ours. MasterCraft is in the process of switching over as we speak.

I have very limited space in my garage, and how the boat "sits" on the trailer is crucial. Will the Ramp n Clamp change this? I have a roller and the bow eye must touch the roller for the boat to sit just right in the v-block. If I buy one, and can't make it work, what is the return policy?

What's the critical dimension you need to hit, Dave? Is it horizontal distance from the mounting bolt, or a vertical distance? I'm more than willing to put a caliper on mine to give you numbers.

With the Ramp-N-Clamp the distance from the center of the mounting bolt is 1.25 inches further from center than with a roller. If you pull the boat all the way forward you can close that distance to mounting bolt center about 5/8 closer but if your options are that critical I would stick with the roller.

I think I can make it work, because I have an adjustable bow stop. Looks like I move it up 1.25". Easy. Thanks guys.

Hey, let me know if you want to borrow mine to look at for a couple of days. It's still in the box, and is likely to stay that way until late April. I'm sure we could find someplace in town reasonably close to each other.

If switching from Boat Buddy to R-N-C, will the position of the boat change or remain the same as where it sits with Boat Buddy?

The Ramp-N-Clamp latch mechanism is .4" further away from the mounting bolt center. The top surface of the Stoltz urethane cover is .3" taller from mounting bolt center.

Both of these measurement differences are really not noticeable unless you are looking at the drawings. The boat sits almost exactly the same with either latch.

On my X2 the winch post is about 2" short no matter if I have the roller, BB or RNC. I run a bow strap to pull it down when towing.

If any one still wants or needs a Boat Buddy I have 2 available & if you pay postage/shipping it's yours.
One or both. I take them off & put rollers on. They still work fine.

Update 3/28/2014: All boat buddys are gone.

If I were going for the new fangled gadget, I'd keep the Boat Buddy. When I traded boats, the new gadget would stay and the Boat Buddy would go back as OEM.
