HI everyone iam new here, I just bought my first tournament boat, a 1993 prostar 190 with 311 hours on it, the boat is in great shape, but when out on the water it pulls to the right like crazy. Driveshaft, prop, and rudder look ok. Any ideas??

I have found that most Master Crafts pull to the right. I think in part it is due to prop torque. It can be lessend by grinding the opposite rear edge of the rudder a little bit .However I find it easier to keep the boat centered through the course with a boat that pulls to right. But that may be just me.

Welcome to the board. You'll find the search in the middle to the right of your screen very useful on this. By the way, what ever you did, you posted this twice. Not sure if it was your intention, but they were about 4 minutes apart. You'll find some have done some shaving to the rudder, added to or removed material from the hull to correct. You are better off reading into the searches, and then come back to this thread and post which situation matches yours best. You'll find the more info you post, the better you chances of narrowing down the answer.

Responded to the other thread, too. As other have said, this was intended. Give it some time. You may find, as I did, that once you get used to it, you won't want to be without that rightward pull.

Eastie,

You should add a post to the FAQ thread about the boats pulling to the right.....

Hey everyone thanks for all the great advice, from everyone I tallk to up here and you guys, looks like the pull to the right is normal. I am going to shave just a bit off the left side so my wife won`t have such a hard time with it. Once again thanks a bunch guys.

Good idea, Erk. Canadianskier, I understand that. My wife about had a fit one day when she tried to fix her hair while pulling me. I'd still suggest that it's something you can easily get used to. Just remember, if you do grind the opposite side, do a very tiny bit at a time. A little goes a very long way.

Before you shave the rudder, make sure you ABSOLUTELY can't live with the slight pull. I have found after only consistently driving inboards for this part of the summer that I enjoy the pull. I was driving a SN today, and the pull to the left, now that was tough to get used too! :)
