I played bass in a few bands in my high school and college days. Jimmy Page was my idol back then but I didn't have the time or patience to learn to play 6 or 12 strings. I still have the old bass. It's a Gibson EB-3, circa 1967.

A few years ago, I started playing guitar, learning/playing mostly acoustic blues. Stuff like Mississippi John Hurt, Big Bill Broonzy... I'm having fun with it and own 5 guitars now. Not sure if I'll ever be good enough, or have enough nerve to play in public. Maybe I'll go play on a bench downtown and see how many quarters I can get in my hat. ;)

I keep hearing...."On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air....."

I play guitar, acoustic mostly and play the same songs I learned in 1977, I truly suck:)

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she cant get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

Man, I thought there'd be a load of stage musicians on here. Btw, musicians are like water skiers: nobody sucks if they're having fun!

I don't know about that. I remember seeing a lot of bands that sucked and they seemed to be having a great time. One band seemed like they were all playing different songs.

Tell us more about your band. How many members/instruments? What type of music? Where do you play?

Lol, true. I more meant when they're sitting around jamming together.

Hey Jim,

Isn't that the definition of Jazz?

i dunno how to do that... and that would be a bad idea at this point. i have a drummer coming over tomorrow actually to re record the drum tracks on that one, and i need to find someone to sing it, because i sing... well... poorly at best.

I should write a song about how much time i waste on an average day looking at team talk!!!!

The singing on that was damn good. Much better than that Humpty Dance/MC Hammer thing you did back when.

Hey Jim,

Isn't that the definition of Jazz?

No. Good Jazz musicians know what they're playing and that it fits, musically. Outside their sphere, it doesn't always sound good although Avant Gardé often sounds like everyone is playing something different.
