Hey all,

Ran the boat out of gas and burnt up the fuel pump. I replaced it with an E2044 which is what i had seen other people online using. I believe it should be spec'd at a max of 100psi. I am worried that maybe the flow rate is not high enough? We replaced... ran the boat and I am only seeing about 50psi at the fuel rail and i am not getting fuel power out of the engine. Can someone please confirm what fuel pump should be in this thing? If that pump is correct what else could be causing this?

Thanks,
Matt

50 PSI should be enough. IIRC you want close to 60 PSI. You are getting fuel power or full power? Did you change the fuel filter while you were in there?

The puck-like doodad on top of the fuel pump module is a pressure regulator. IIRC, fuel pressure is 60 psi at the rail on my MCX.

Sorry that should have said "full power".... I am only getting 50psi at the fuel rail. The boat runs well, but the power just is not there. I did not chage the fuel filter, couldnt find it available.... However, I do not see this being the issue because I was getting 58 psi at the rail with the old pump.... the pressure would just drop when I ran the boat so I knew the pump was bad / impeller. Also, there is 3/4 of fuel in the tank so most likely the pump is not pulling fuel through the filter in the bottom of the assembly. Is the fuel pressure regulator adjustable?

Can anyone confirm they have used the E2044 with the MCX setup?

My pump died two weeks ago...I replaced it with the Airtex E2044 from AutoZone. I also replaced the main filter on the bottom.
Works perfectly. 06 X-Star with MCX.

Update, the boat is runnin fine again and the E2044 was the correct part. When I put the pump assembly back together I did not line the pump up directly with the hole in the bottom so it was offset which is why I was only getting 50psi. The boat fires immediately and all is good! Thanks for the help here guys!
