If I were really ambitious, I could go out to the pole shed, take the tarp off, take the cover off, climb into the bilge and measure the raw water intake hose myself, but to avoid that I was feeling pretty confident that someone here would know that and the heater hose size off the top of their head, and save me some trouble.

I was thinking 1.25 inch and 3/4 inch respectively?

ETS related the answer with such authority that I was immediately compelled to that assumption.

If the 197 is different, that's news to me. I thought only PCM engines ran 1" water hoses.

I'm dredging this one up again. I used 1" on mine...I think. The PCM # is R054004. I just measured, and the ID appears to be right at 1". All was well until I tried to take the hose off at the raw water pump last fall. I could not get it off the barbed pvc fitting at the hull. I had to cut it. Not so easy with wire in it! Any thoughts?
