I was noticing my 97 Pro Star came with the Indmar 5.7L with 275 HP engine. Was there any difference between the 275 HP engine and the 310HP engine in the rest of the enginge design? I was thinking the difference was just the cam. If so, has anyone upgraded from the 275HP cam to the 310HP cam? Is it worth the work? My boat is in like new condidtion for original, and is paid off, I just want a bit more power.

310 was the LT1 option, totally different animal. The stock 275 TBI is a tried and true design, unfortunately it's not to fancy to performance upgrades.

The predator was the 5.7 vortec 310 hp I believe. In 98 they went to 300 hp vortec.

What prop are you running? Amazing what a performance difference a good prop will make.

I agree a prop change made a unbelievable difference. I put an Oj XMP 11.5 x 13 couldn't be happier.

You can just toss a cam in without doing some calibration work on the ECM.
