View Full Version : Bow Scuff Protector

I'm looking for some sort of bow guard that will protect my boat from the trailer roller. I've found a bunch of ones made from stainless, but it's not what I'm looking for. I have a wrap on my boat, so I prefer something that is clear, heavy mil vinyl. I'm pretty sure I've seen it before, but not sure where. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

I've never seen a clear one. And I don't think the "bug shield" like you see on the front of a car would work.
I used to have a white one on my old boat I bought at Bass Pro Shops I think for $20.00 ish. If white will work??

3m makes some clear vinyl that should work. They call it paint protection film. You can buy lots of different sizes on ebay.

XPEL sells the stuff online.

Thanks guys. Went with the 3M Ventureshield. It was the thickest of the group at 8mils.

In my experience using that in construction is it isn't as durable as u think. I would just assume this would get tore up. Let me know how it works. I have a roll in my garage. My bow gets scuffed up too.

Yeah, for under $20 I figured it would be worth a shot. Better than tearing up my $1500 wrap.

Do you power load onto the roller or stop short and winch it on?

I float/winch it on. The wrap just comes down too low on the bow for it not to be an issue.
