I am parting out my 1981 stars and stripes. when i found out that the under water gear was all bad my restoration budget was to high. Selling everything and starting with another boat. I have almost everything, great running engine and drive, some interior, some controls, nice trail rite tandem axle trailer replaced in the mid to late 90's, let me know what you need.

Pictures would help. Too bad you're on the west coast....I'd cut the transom off and turn it into wall art/bookshelf.

That looks like a pretty good boat. You probably could get decent money selling it all together even with the bad underwater gear.

The trailer has been traded for a single axle trailer and it to is for sale. The gauges are ok speedos are a little pitted but working. That are all a little faded but there. I also have a bunch ad period Stuart Werner gauges. Make me an offer and the gauges are yours.

What kind of shape is the Bimini in? Is the windshield the same as my 76, and in good shape?

the windshield should be the same as a 70's but not 100% looking at maybe 150.00 and the bow vent is perfect no cracks it is mat black. maybe 40.00-50.00? the engine is in great condition please call me and we can talk about the engine. 408 605 9688

Under water gear would be the prop shaft and prop strut as well as the prop and the rubber and rudder box.

What exactly was wrong with all these? Did the PO hit something? Just interested bc I'm in the middle of a resto too and I didn't realize there could be such catastrophic failures..

Interior???

zfab

The drivers seat is the original fixed seat. It has some holes for snaps but in good condition. The passenger size is there however the pads need some love and the seat base is there but buds some crack repair. The boat never had a rear seat.

At some point in its life someone hit a few things really really hard and patched the under water gear together enough to make them work. However 20 plus years later they are now junk.

If anyone wants a 1981 Stars and Stripes bare hull let me know, would make a great patch panel domed if needed. I would like it gone by next week. I might just try out my body saw if no one wants it and cut it up. I do have a title for the boat.
