Hey Guys,

Need a little help on a couple of things. Looked at 2001 Prostar 190 . The first thing seller said was hour meter was not connected, He told me he had it serviced at Local MC dealer, they hooked it up to computer and said it had 488 hours on it. Can a dealer hook up to computer and tell the hours on the engine?

Second the rear driver side where the light hooks up the fiberglass is cracked. See photo attached is this a big deal?

Attached also is ID # off the boat what does all that say? MBCJAFY7KOO1

Thanks in advanced

I've got cracks on my boat and it doesn't bother me. If it bothers you, that is the question. They look superficial.

Yes the dealer can hook up to the computer and tell the hours on the engine.

My boat, for example, showed less hours when hooked up to the dealer's computer than than the hour meter showed. The reason being, if the ignition is left turned part way, the meter will run even though the engine isn't running (not sure if that is true on the newer boats). My guess is the computer reading is going to be the more accurate source in most instances.

I think the crack is just in the gel coat and not the actual fiberglass. Mine has some cracks like that too. I'm not worried about them unless the thing starts to sink.

The vinyl looks like its is really good shape. I just mine all redone, the original vinyl in '01 was garbage.

Agree with all the above. My 01ps190 has the same cracks. Vinyl looks great for being an 01.
Also, if the hour meter isnt working, is the tach?
