I am trying to find a replacement for this piece and need to determine what material it is made out of. This is the bulkhead under the steering console. If it is ABS plastic DAMN that stuff is expensive. A 24"x32"x7/16" board is close to $50! I have hit the end of every different Google search term I could think of to uncover names of other types of materials which this could be. Before I fork over the money and buy a custom cut sheet of ABS plastic and have it shipped I figured I would reach out to you all first. PLEASE help....

I replaced mine with a piece of 3/4" plyboard. Used the flimsy board as a cutting template and even used the same piece of carpet to recover it.... Works like a charm....

Mounted my amp and isolation switch onto it.

It looks like it may be HDPE or similar. I see no reason you could not replicate that out of void-free birch ply with a couple of coats or 2-part resin. But when you reinstall it, be sure to leave it off the floor just a little. Left in water, ever resin coated wood will eventually soak up some moisture.

I believe it is HDPE. At least, that is what it is in my boat.
