My trailer plug (adapter) has been beat up pretty bad for a while, all from previous owner, out of curiosity I know with all the cracks water is penetrating it when putting the boat in the water and I was wondering does this do the electric wiring any harm??? Also- the adapter is hard pull of my truck is there something I could put on there to make it a bit easier?

thx

What plug do you have? 4 plug or 7?

7 (I think-6 "holes" plus one in the middle) but only 5 wires

You could put some dielectic grease (non-conductive) on the coupler to help it come off and on easier. This might seal up some of your cracks as well. Long term, water getting in will corrode the contacts and it will eventually start giving trouble Short term, I don't think that it hurts anything.
