View Full Version : 97 205 ballast tanks?

i will be getting my new (to me) boat this coming weekend and am trying to research toys for it now. i've been told that 97 was the first year of the X-star, did that boat have a factory ballast system that could be installed in my 205 direct drive?
other question in regards to ballast, how much weight and what kind of sacs or tanks has anyone else used in one of these boats?
i'm sure i'll have a million questions once the boat is here so thanks in advance for any help.

Before we got our X-2 we had a '97 205 direct drive. Great all around boat, you will be very happy with it.
I don't think there is anyplace on it that you could stash some factory ballast tanks. You could take off the back seat and put a fat-sac in its place, put lead in the ice chest in the floor and add some in the front storage compartments. Those are the only places to add additional weight that I can think of. Hope this helps.

Double D stands for Direct drive.
as oposed to a V-drive
