I am curently looking at buying my first MC boat and i am thinking of a prostar 205 with wake board tower, this way we can do both sking and wake boarding with the kids 10 and13 I have read that this is the way to go as it works well as a cross over.

We have a '96 Prostar 205 with a zero flex tower. As the Prostar was originally designed as a ski boat it's of course great at doing this....but with a tower it becomes an awesome crossover boat for families who want to do both. The wake is not too extreme at wakeboard speeds so its ideal for beginners and kids. From what I've read, the (small) wake for skiing is also excellent at higher speeds.
The boat can legally carry 10 people but any more than 8 it becomes too difficult to move around the boat in my opinion.
Our integrated bimini top which is mounted at the very top of the tower which allows you to stand up straight in the boat and as it is so high, it throws a lot of shade across the boat.
The other advantage of a tower is having a place to store boards and skis which frees up a lot of space in the boat. Ours is able to be folded down which allows the boat to fit in the garage. You may also consider/look for a trailer with a swing away tongue...with this (and the platform removed) the 205 will fit in a standard garage.

Great crossover boat and MC's best selling hull. Good skier and the original Xstar hull.

I'd look for a 96 or newer 205DD with a New Dimension tower. That will be a perfect boat for you to start on and will be a very quick and easy resale if you ever decide to 'upgrade'. Excellent ski and wakeboard boat. You may even find a 205 V Drive in the low 20's. (Though if I were purchase I'd prefer the DD) Good luck
