View Full Version : Thoughts on this X-2 2004

Found this on Craigslist and was hoping to get some opinions on the price. He's asking $35,500. I've heard the two back tank ballasts were exchanged for bags. I just wanted some other thoughts on if that number was high. I was thinking more 29-30k tops for that boat. Would love some opinions. Thank you.

Nice X2, but for that money I would look at the 05 with lower hours that was for sale on here the other day.

Yeah, he's about $5k high on that price.

Just a month ago I got a same year X30 for 32K..Drove 800 miles to get it. But the right boat is worth a trip

If I could have gotten that boat for 30k when I was looking, I would have pulled the trigger instantly.
35k might be a bit high, but I am not sure about 5k high. Especially in the midwest, towboats usually are a bit more expensive than other areas of the country.

Sharp looking boat, but he is a little high. Make them an offer, you feel comfortable with, doesn't hurt to ask...

I'm thinking its $5K high in mid season. For this time of year anything goes and you might as well shoot for the sky. I bought a 03 X2 with 150 hours on it 6 years ago for $30K. Nice boat but they'll be better deals out there for sure.

I think the price is high. But you don't know what his bottom line is unless you make an offer and he refuses

If the seller is 5k high, how about helping the buyer out and direct him to the good condition 30k 2004+ X2s/X1s...

I agree, $5k high . . . in a perfect world. But it depends on how much you like/want the boat and how long you're willing to wait to get one at a better price point.
I bought my 05 X2 last fall for $34,500. It has the MCX, PerfectPass, and 450 hrs. And that's Western Canada prices, which are typically higher than US prices.

Keep watching the Ebay post here, watching what's for sale on Only Inboards and start checking Craig's list with a search mesh to find all the boats listed in the country. One will pop up believe me.
Early spring is when people that are upgrading from the boat shows are looking to sell their boats instead of trading them in. Or have sat on their boat from the fall to get a better price in the spring. Come May most will have to do something if they're upgrading to a new boat as the ordered boat will have arrived and the dealer will want them to take delivery. Prices will drop as we get into late spring and into June.
There's always a good deal out there you just have to be willing to wait and go to where the deal is. The last three boats I bought were at least four hours away and one was ten. What you pay most times is based on your patience and where you're will to go to get the deal.

a very worthwhile upgrade. the 750's back there are much nicer than the old tanks, i would just reinforce the engine dividers.
