View Full Version : Thoughts on this X9

Found this C.L., and as one TT member said it.....condition, condition, condition. 2004 X9, with very little use. Pretty boat, I personally like the color scheme. Thoughts on it? I am no expert, but the price seems WAY to high for a boat that is approaching 10 years old. Doesn't seem like he want to budge on the price either, but who knows.

Sellers always start high and buyers start low, it's somewhere in the middle that can make both parties happy. It's only been advert for 3 days he's not going to budge quickly. Let it sit for sale for months on end then he'll come down, sounds like it's not a must sell, so time will tell...:twocents:

Nice X9, saw that ad too. Springtime fishing for buyers in Seattle!

He may be wanting to upgrade too and is just waiting to see if he can get retail for his boat? Looks like he doesn't have to sell it and it's now the time to start selling boats. I read it as hey you want a nice boat here it is but you will have to pay for it, if you're looking for a deal you need to be shopping elsewhere.

What's NADA say it's worth?
How much was it new back in '04?

$36k seems high, but it appears to be very clean with low hours.

Keep in mind '04 sometimes had vinyl issues, calipers problems on the trailer and is not throttle by wire (that started in '05) Also stock speakers were Clarions, not JL's.

Many things got improved in '05.

Just read location is BC....maybe that price is canadian? Not sure if that's much different these days anyway.

As I always say in the aircraft industry, that thing appears to be a "cream puff", or appear really nice. I read that ad in saying "my boat is nice, and if you want a nice boat, this is it. I think it is worth 36K". I did a NADA search (which isn't really that detailed) and it said a new X9 in '04 was I believe like $46500.00. The value was put at around 25,500 or in that ballpark. I did realize it in the Great White North, eh, but the U.S. Dollar and Canadian dollar are about equal. I agree, right about 27-28K tops. He is probably just seeing what the market will bring. For anyone who does their homework, he is way off....

That price is Canadian, he is just out of Vancouver. and he isnt in a hurry to sell. He says it is mint condition and he could put it in a showroom, it is that clean. Has many extras including a couple grand in stereo. Talked with him a month or more ago

I think if you want a Direct Drive boat be patient because they are out there and at a reasonable price! I just picked my 03 up for under 20k but it needed some work. This should be around 25k if its in perfect shape. Meaning you can put it in the water and not have to work on it or even wax it. This price seems higher than dealer. Check out my thread on my 03 needing TLC. We have a Malibu Sunsetter out here in Montana for 26K and its an 03 DD and its perfect and loaded. http://montana.craigslist.org/boa/3698517016.html he wants 29k but it was 26k all winter. I would check out Northern California too. Good Luck

I actually emailed the owner of the X9, and he said the bottom price would be 34K. Still high IMO. I have a perfectly good Tristar that I have put a lot of work into, just lookin for something a little bigger, newer, dd or v drive....basically, I have a fever, and the only cure is more MasterCraft Cowbell!!
