Hi guys,

Looking for some help. I am in the process of restoring my boat, in this thread:

http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=50251

I have run into a snag thou, I planned to use spectrum color gelcoat to patch up the spots that need it. Unfortunately when I spoke with Mastercraft and gave them my Hull # there weren't able to give me much info on the gelcoat that was used.

I have figured out one colour is "Flagship Blue", unfortunately I can't figure out what the white color is. I ordered the "Glacier White" hoping that it would be right when I ordered the blue from Spectrum. It isn't it is alot brighter.

So does anyone know what color the white on these classic boats is called? I see alot of them out there so I hope that someone might have gone through this already.

The white on my 95 is not a bright white and is called oyster white

What is the colour pattern on your 95? I didn't think they made the flagship blue and magenta past 94?

What year is your boat? If it's a 94, it could be oyster white. Here's the list of all the gelcoat colors from another thread back in 2004

It's a 1992.

I found that list before as well, thanks, That is why I took the chance on the Glacier White.

My boat is glacier white. I patched some gel over the winter and the new gel is a little whiter than the old stuff. You have to be looking to see it, but I can tell. Maybe it yellows a little over time.

My 91 was Glacier White. I used the Spectrum patch paste.

This is how the Glacier looks against my current gelcoat. I have also sanded the gel down so I am sure it is pretty close to original colour

Dang. I was reading you build/project thread. Seems like a huge pain. I have a jet ski that needed gel coat finish and it took a lot of work to help fill in a gauge. I woke take it to a body shop/paint place. They may be able to help you... At least for me they did

I have a dawn grey 93 that I thought was white at first. Ordered the glacier white, and it contrasted a lot like your picture. You may have the same gelcoat. Does it look as grey in contrast to the glacier white as the picture suggests?

AZDave,

Do you have a picture of your boat?

The colour combination on my boat seems to be pretty common. I have seen a few of them on the site. It has a grey stripe with the magenta which I figured would be grey dawn, but as you say in my picture it really does look pretty grey.

Same as my avatar. Boat looks white, but is actually grey. Very light, white grey. Grey Dawn. Whatever that means. The contrast of your hull and the white gelcoat looks like mine did. I purchased the grey dawn from Spectrum and it was very close, but still not spot on due to the age of the boat.

My 94 205 was Mastercraft, 1994-1998, Stone,

I also thought it was Glacier White. But I ran my hull ID I found out it was stone.

There's the problem - spectrum spells colour wrong.. ;)8p

LOL,

Yeah yeah, and we say aboooot wrong too.............

If spectrum spelled it correctly we'd have polar bear white, igloo white, snow white, ice white..........I could go on all day.......

But I still wouldn't know what COLOR my boat was!!!!!!!

Color match is an ugly thing... the only way to really get the right color is with a spectrophotometer - paint stores use this type of device to match color. The other option is to do it yourself.

Just need to bump this thread up. I am really in a bind. There are a ton of these blue, magenta, grey, and "white" Prostars out there. This is a shout out to all of them!!!

Please anyone that has one of these boats if your willing to send me your Hull number via PM I would be very grateful.

I would like to reach out to Mastercraft with your numbers and see if they have any details on what gelcoat was used.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think my boat is a clone of yours or yours is a clone of mine, but I'm willing to try and help.

The blue seems different.

Let me know if I can help.

My boat is white.

Thanks Kyle,

I agree with you, It's a close match but I think your boat is a little bit lighter and brighter white.

After another conversation with Bill at Mastercraft, I am thinking that I will have to bite the bullet and try out another colour. He told me that they don't have any records on any boats that far back.

I think AZDave was onto something with the "Dawn Grey", so I guess I'll try going that route first.

So a quick update to end off this thread for future reference:

The colour is for sure Grey Dawn, i received my package from Spectrum yesterday and did a little colour testing. It looks like an almost perfect match!!!!

Finally, huh? I looked over your restore thread and looking at the deck it looked exactly like mine. Amazing how we both mistook this for Glacier White at one point. Good luck!
