In a previous post I showed an impeller that the PO obviously neglected to check during winterization. I'll post it again just to show it. Arrgh!! I was pretty much torn up. Most vanes were destroyed and a couple were torn off missing. I'm ready to start the boat up and get it ready for the season. But I'm torn between removing hoses and checking the t-stat and just starting and watch where the temp gauge goes. I'm a believer in "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", and don't like to just for fun take stuff apart. Any comments??

Might be good to change T-stat as long as your concerned about it. It will let you sleep at night. DId you ever post a pic of your engine?

I did not post a pic of the engine. Give me a few minutes and I'll size a picture for posting.

I would take the time to inspect. The time you spend on this is much better than the time you might spend with a hot running boat in season. Replace the stat while it is apart.
