View Full Version : Re prop 2000 205 V

I have purchased and installed an Acme 1273 for my 2000 205V. The prop is 14.5 x 14.25 and if I am not mistaken, it is not going to clear the prop guard when fully resting on the bunks. i am only talking about .25" or so and i expect it will clear when launching but it is causing some concern none the less. Has anyone else noticed this when re propping a 205V? Is it perhaps a function of the 2000 trailer spec and I need to get the prop guard lowered?
Anything known about this would be welcome to hear.

I have a 1285 (virtually identical to your 1273) on my 05 X2 -- same hull as yours -- with no clearance issues. Of course, my trailer is different.

If it's close, I would just get the prop guard lowered. I have plenty of clearance on my 2003 205v/x2 trailer.

Guard already relatively low to the ground. I am thinking bunks will have to be raised.

Is your concern with unloading and unloading or while trailering also? Remember that the stern is usually floating when unloading and loading if you have your trailer in far enough so there should be plenty of clearance.

No doubt the stern will float on a steep ramp but I will need to be ultra cautious with any gradual ramps and/or wash when loading / unloading. just doesn't seem correct. For JRW160 : Any chance you can snap a pic of your boat on the trailer from the stern? I think my prop guard is already too close to the street and i am going to have to raise the bunks.
Thanks in advance.

I found a few pics that might help. It's kinda hard to see home much clearance there is because of the angle. I can probably get some more useful pictures this weekend when I have the boat out.

Very helpful. Thanks. It seems that your trailer carries the boat higher than mine does. I will take a good look at these pics relative to my trailer when I get home.
