Does any have a pic of original platform around 82? Was it textured? (with just paint its a LITTLE slippery) Stickers on it maybe? Also was the fire extinguisher mounted? any pics of that? I understand these are long shots so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

Definitely not a long shot. Someone will be by with pics of an original glass platform with the rubber pad. You have that platform looking great!

Not sure how the OEM platform looked but it looks like it had some sort of pad. Here are some ideas:

I looked at a 1980 a few years back. It had the carpet on it like the red one pictured above. I doubt it was OEM but it looked just like the one pictured.

Yeah, my '77 came with the swim platform carpeted. It works nicely but doesn't look like much. The rubber pads that came on these only lasted so long before they would start to dry and crack. There are several options for replacement around. Seadek is one. http://www.seadek.com/

Thanks for all the input. I also have a call into the original owner hopefully his memory is better than mine.

Sea Dek is the way to go. It's a little pricey, and takes a little time, but it will work the best.
