How many of y'all use Rotella motor oil in your boat? Any pros and cons?

15W40 Rotella in my MCX, no problems. I would run 15W40 Pennzoil Marine but cannot find it easily around here.
I run Mobil 1 in my LT-1 though.

Oil has been discussed so many times and will happen again, and again, and... :)

Rotella is fine in anything with Vortec heads. In the older flat tappet Fords (all Fords) and Chevys, find an oil with appropriate levels of ZDDP such as, but not limited to, Valvoline VR-1 20W50.

I currently use Rotella in my 96 ProStar and my 03' F150 and see less oil consumption. But I use Mobil 1 in my 08' Acura TL.

I'm a convert - either Valvoline Synthetic VR-1 20W50 or Royal Purple XPR-20w-50 and a bottle of Hyper-Lube... but that's just me - Dino racing is good too.. Rotella is good oil too... my MC-OCD get's fueled by putting blue or purple oil in my Prostar.. ;)
Thanks. A friend put it in his 95 Prostar last year. I put the Pennzoil in my '01 last year. Been running Amsoil in my motorcycle the last 2 years so I'm just weighing my options.
BTW, my boat has the LTR engine.

It has worked great for me. That was on a flat tappet though. I now have a '98 5.7 Vortec. The PO claims to have put in a 30 WT oil and I'm confused all over again. Is the ZDDP all that necessary in these engines? Some one told me that we have rollers not flat tappets in these engines. Is that so? I'm inclined to stay with the Valvoline.

Indmar Manual 1994-2002 calls for Racing oil - 15w40. So to me they are still specifying higher ZDDP oils. I like the synthetics because of their shear strength in high temps under load.
