My wife is the best! My birthday was weds. and she got me The Elite Package to drive Exotic Cars in Vegas next month. Has anybody done the "Exotics Road Racing Course" at L.V. Motor Speedway? My question is...am I better to do more laps in 1 type of car, or is 5 laps enough if I do 2 types of cars. Thinking Ferrari F430 F1 and Lamborghinni Gallardo combo (5 laps ea.)?????
Hints or tips appreciated as I drive in a few weeks.

That is awesome. Unless you already have driven the different cars, I would do each. Have a blast!!!

I did it last year and it rocks! Don't under value the drift ride as well, I *almost* thought that was more fun just riding with a pro driver than driving itself. I drove the R8, wasn't impressed. Brother drove the aston and liked it, friend drove the GTR, another drove one of the Ferrari's.

I wouldn't worry about more laps in 1 car vs the other. The 5 laps go by quick and it's fun. The only thing to consider about doing multiple cars is that you will wait longer to get your rides in.

I have often thought of doing this. Based on zero experience, I think I would prefer to wait a little longer to experience the variety of cars. Manual transmission whenever possible which is probably never unless there are some 911s (I understand 911s aren't exotic, but they might have a GT3-RS). I think the Ford GT came with a manual as well.

How big is the track and is it an oval, or road course? What kind of speeds did you get up to and what are the "rules"?

My wife added some kind of Cheyanne lap, I assume it's high speed just to get you pumped before the other stuff. How long of an orientation/saftey process?

I'd think that the more laps you do with one car, the more you'll learn how the car handles and the faster you'll wind up going at the end of the experience. If your ultimate goal is to go as fast as possible, get all your experience on one vehicle. If you're switching back and forth between vehicles, you'll have to adapt to the power and handling of each one, which will slow you down as you adjust to the quirks and idiosyncrasies of each.

Having raced in the ChumpCar series and spending umteen days behind the wheel of my 66 Mustang track day car, I would pick the one car I really want to drive and drive the wheels off till they come and take me out of the seat! If you can stay in a car long enough to get semi-comfortable, that is when the fun begins. BTW, the F430 would be my choice 8p

Everyone does the Porsche Cheyenne lap. That is so you can see the course. It's a full road course with varying difficulties of turns. There is one straight stretch that your pro driver in the car with you will tell you to gun it. The R8 hit about 100 before I had to slow for the turn. The pro driver will assist your during turns if you are not hitting the markers right and he'll tell you when to brake and accel for the turns. If you are going too slow during the turns your pro will tell you to move over for faster traffic, I think they have bets on who gets lapped the most.

It's a rolling course, so when it's your turn you merge into traffic. It's kind of nerve racking the first few laps.

I did 5 laps each in the 430 Scuderia and Lambo Superleggera and they went by too quick. It was over just as I was really getting a good feel for each car and the track. 7 laps in each would have been just about perfect for an introduction. I didn't think much of going for a ride-along in the drift Vette until I got to the site and saw that guy leaving the paddock sideways even before getting on the track - total nut job. And he was fast, really fast. He has 2 Vettes on a rotation. When one has the tires totally cooked off he comes in and switches for a car with fresh tires and brakes. He does this steady all day, every day with a line of folks waiting to get in there with him. My vote would be 2 of your dream cars at 7 laps each followed by the ride-along in the Vette. Have fun!!

Last year when I did it this time of the year they had actually just wrecked the vette so our drift rides were in a GT3-RS. I should find my video from the drive and ride and upload to youtube.

This is all good information. How much $ is the drift car to add, give or take? Do I need to reserve my car(s) of choice, or voice that when I show up? Also, does the drift require reservations. The "rolling track" concept is a concern. I'm sure the visibility out of a Lambo isn't great.

Great advice! id do more of a driver oriented car. what is the fun of sitting in a computer? the GTR might as well drive for you.

The drift ride was $99 when I did it.

I had to specify which car I wanted before hand, but we had a package cause there were 5 of us so we had transportation to and from our hotel + our drives. The drift is a first come first serve, so you just state you want a ride and they'll put you in the list.

The pro driver with you has your back so you only look forward, he tells you when you are ready to merge and watches your backside so you don't have to. I was nervous about that as well but it worked well and went smoothly.

Did the car driving this weekend and it was great. Drove the Mercedes 300sls AMG (Gullwing) first and had a little trouble w/ turn 1, 4 out of 5 laps and that slowed me down a bit. Drove the Lamborginni Galardo and there was a warning light that came on on my first lap, so we pulled in and they upgraged me to the Galardo Superlagerro so that was cool besides getting in another model. Then did the drift in an Audi R-8. I was pretty fast in the Superllagerro and almost spun out at one point. Was far from super fast being a novice at the track, but let's just say nobody passed me, I was doing the passing. A little frustrating having slower traffic taking your lap times down. I had my best lap going and then a Ferrari got im my way. Great time and highly reccomend it.
