As promised here is the update....

Her water broke yesterday morning and we sat around all day and all of last night and she couldn't get dialated enough. So, this morning they decided to do a C-Section. As we already knew it was a boy. He was 7.5 lbs and 21 in long and is perfectly healthy. Mom is doing just fine as well. We'll have to do a few more days in the hospital (brought the lap top), but things seem to be fine.

Also, check this out. As we're in the operating room one of the nurses starts talking to us to take our minds off the C-Section. She asks us what we do for fun etc. Of couse I said we're skiers, boaters. Turns out she has a MariStar and we talked about skiing and MC's through most of the delivery and some of the post op. Small world, but how fitting.

But, that's the news the baby is beautiful, and ready for a run at Parks Bonifay's record.

CONGRATULATIONS! He's beautiful, looks like a wakeboarder though (could just be because he's wearing a knit cap in the summer). It's funny, I remembered you saying your wife was going in yesterday, and I was looking around on here to see if I could find anything about the baby, and you posted while I was looking at another thread. I'm sure you are all very happy, proud, and thankful. Little CJ shares my first name (James, which I don't use).

My guess is that there won't be any "Fire in the Hole" for at least 8 weeks! ;)

Thanks guys! I'm sitting here trying to be quiet with Carla and Cody now. They are both sleeping. He is a "cool dude." Hasn't really cried and he's strong. He played with my index fingers for about an hour. He's got reddish/blondish hair (same as mine) and looks great. I am just so thankful that everything went fine. I must have said 25 Hail Marys while I was in that OR. I'm really excited! :woohoo:

That looks like his right foot is forward to me. Of course, the more I look at it the more it looks like a wakeboard stance. Quick, Brian do something to fix that!

You're in for some great times to come. Thanks to some slightly crappy weather from Hurricane Frances we didn't get to go to the lake at all this weekend, so I spent Saturday and yesterday building a 6x6x10 play structure for my son. He followed me around the whole time asking, "Do you need some help?" I love to ski, but it was worth every minute that I spent working on it (rain and all).

1 word of advice for getting him ready for playing in the water. Maybe it's just a coincidence... but I ended up giving my daughter a shower with me a couple times a week (she'd take one with my wife a couple times a week also). We made it a point to get her face splashed by the shower each time. By the time she got in the water (around 4-5 months) she could care less if her face got splashed, or dunked. This past summer (at 15+ months) we couldn't keep her out of the water. As soon as the boat would stop, she'd be on the swim platform

just something to think about.

Brian,

Next time you're up all night, here's some updated Dr Suess to read...
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.

If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
and the double-clicking icon puts puts your window in the trash,
and your data is corrupted Ďcause the index doesnít hash,
then your situationís hopeless,
and your systemís gonna crash.

If the label on the cable on the table at your house,
says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
but your packets want to tunnel on another protocol,
thatís repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall,
and your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss,
so your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse,
then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
Ďcause as sure as Iím a poet,
the suckerís gonna hang!

When the copy of your floppy Ďs getting sloppy on the disk,
and the microcode instructions cause unnecessary risk,
then you have to flash your memory and youíll want to RAM your ROM.

Quickly turn off the computer.
And be sure to tell your mom.

Great shots! Keep 'em comming.

I've been told that after they are asleep, lay them beside the motor box. The humm of the motor will keep them asleep for a good while & when they get a little older, they'll crash there in a hurry.

My little girl never slept on the boat - so I couldn't give it a try. She's way to curious - always watching the skier.

Mark - my water is in the 50's. Almost got the boat out last weekend - but too many chores this spring. Especially since my river flooded last week & hasn't gone down all the way yet.

Sorry for the threadjack. Without the boat, I've been forced to focus on other projects. One of those projects was assembling part of a built-in entertainment center for our big screen TV.

We purchased two side towers from one of those unstained furniture places. I built a 4" base to lift the TV up a bit (this was no small task as the TV weighs 350 lbs). Next I built the center section which essentially frames the TV, provides a shelf over it for the center speaker and satellite receiver, and shelf over that. The side towers are affixed to the side of this thing. The whole thing is 7' tall and about 75" across. All that remains it to put some facing/moulding on it. It turned out better than I'd hoped.
