If you are not in Canada, please don't complain. We still have a couple months to wait to get into that 48 degree water ....

34 degrees in Madison and we've been switching between sprinkles and snow flurries all morning.

You know you've got cabin fever when you're praying for 40 degrees outside.

I'm with you bro...drizzle in Chicago after getting about 10" of snow on Tuesday. The lake is 3-4hrs North so we arent even thinking boats yet. I just want the rain to wash the salt off the roads so I can take my Harley for a ride with my friends.

This coming week looks promising!

That stinks. I was there a two weeks ago and it was COLD with highs only in the low 60's. Plus the wakeboard park was opening the day after I left.

That's just depressing.:(

Let those trucks and SUVs idle in the driveway to speed up Global Warming.

I was just snow skiing yesterday with the kids (day off from school). So it would be cool to go wakeboarding next weekend.

On our way home we stopped at the Sacramento Boat Show. Got a new PFD for the 12 year old daughter and my son picked up a used wake skate for $40 including a nice bag/case for it.

Actually cruised around the lake a few weeks ago. Got in the water too (sorta unintentionally lol) Was cold but not THAT cold -- wouldn't want to go without a wetsuit though!

I think it was the left-overs from a bonfire. This lake has an inlet and outlet with a good watershed, as well as it is spring fed so water level doesn't vary by much. At a mere 236 acres, it has a max depth of 54 feet, has two islands and several rock bars (reefs). Water clarity is amazing with a clear view to 10 or 12 feet. It's full of musky, bass (largemouth & smallmouth), northern, crappie and some walleye. I vacation here every August and have several relatives on the lake, so I am there often.

This lake is not a warm lake. Only really comfortable from the 4th of July to mid-August. Some of the Northern MN lakes have 40 inches of ice right now.

40 inches... that's a lot of ice... when does your lake ice out usually? The lake go in Canada by Medimoose ices out in may usually.

Well, I think Friday is the day. I have something going on for Saturday so that is out and I'm thinking "bird in hand is better than a feather in the bush" when it comes to Sunday. Kids have 1/2 day school so I think I'll take 1/2 day Friday off of work and see just how cold the water still is. Wish me luck.
