Hopefully you did not see the series "LOST" when it was on TV. If not, get that and prepare to get hooked on it. Prob over 50 hours of viewing.

If you aren't watching Justified on FX, you need to buy seasons 1-3. Best show on TV right now. Got to watch Uncle Buck too.

If you don't have NetFlix, get it during your recoup period. Not many recent releases, but there are some good one on there including alot of TV Series such as Weeds, Breaking Bad, Lost, etc.

Long way round and long way down.

Both docs with Ewen Mcgregor and a friend of his circumnavigate the globe on bikes in Long way round and then follow it up with going from the tip of Wales to South Africa in Long Way Down.

"Lawless" is off the chain.
"The Unforgiven" (Clint Eastwood at his best).
"Open Range" (Not a CCostner fan but the movie is incredible).

If your order a lot off of Amazon, just go Prime. It looks to have many more titles than Netflix, and it cheaper. You also get kindle downloads and free two day shipping. it is $80/year

How is the streaming quality/picture quality? I've been on Netflix for a few years and my wife always says "they never have anything good".....

I agree with the Netflix and TV and miniseries ideas. Pulled me through a few long periods like when I was sick (or just bored). Didn't see it mentioned yet, but my all time favorite is "Band of Brothers." I can watch it multiple times without getting bored.

My recommendations:

Miniseries:
Band of Brothers
The Pacific
Lonesome Dove

Movie Series:
James Bond marathon
Lord of the Rings trilogy

TV Seasons:
Breaking Bad
Lost
24
Walking Dead
Game of Thrones

I cancelled Netflix recently because I ran out of good things to watch. My latest complaint is that almost everything I did want to watch wasn't available for instant viewing -- I had to wait for the DVD to come in the mail.
