Any TT'ers from Rochester Mn? (pardon the spelling if it is wrong). Just got a call from a recruiter and sounds like a good position available there...

Let me guess.....is the job with IBM or Mayo? Those are the two main employers there. Not sure about any Rochester TTers, but there are quite a few of us in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area which is only about 80 miles away.

While I would hate to defect from Wisconsin... and my current home...I have to consider it.

Actually it is not with either company... My wife and I would be looking to live 1/2 way between The Cities and Rochester. She could take a job in the Cities (South), I would be in Rochester.

Would love any input about the area...

You would be looking at the town of Cannon Falls. That would be the only realistic half-way point.

That would get you within range of fine tuning your carb is necessary.

I think I heard that Rochester is in the only county in Minnesota without a lake. True/false?

Olmsted county does have a few lakes, but not like most of MN.

Maybe it was "natural" lake as they all look man made by dams on the map. My wife's family lives in central Wisconsin and we travel through there several times a year. I really like from Rochester east to About 40 miles past LaCrosse. Real pretty area.

Yes, Western Wisconsin is quite nice.

I threw my hat into the ring an hour ago....

I stand corrected.......it has six reservoirs created by dams. Olmsted is on of four MN counties with no natural lakes. Kind of amazing as MN has 11,842 lakes over 10 acres.

There are quite a few MC owners in and around Rochester, I don't think many of them are on TT but they are all great people. You'll love it!

If you are a slalom skier, you may want to consider Trophy Lake in Pine Island. It is a private ski lake with lots available.

Pennington county is one of the counties without a lake. Unfortunately that is where I live...
