Just wanted to show the new boat. We skied it this afternoon for the first time, and the boat is amazing. It's a much bigger difference from my old '95 190 than I expected. It's outfitted with everything I wanted including mcx, perfect pass, mini tower, board/slalom racks, transom saver, rear ballast, and stereo (still have to put that in). Can't say enough about the boat. It does everything better than the old, and I'm enamored with it.

I'd also like to thank Chuck and Jim at Bay Area Watersports for taking such good care of me during the whole purchase process. Chuck worked hard making sure everything was right from a year ago when I was just ordering small parts for my old boat, all the way up to the delivery check ride of the '05. This was my first big new purchase, and being such a detail freak, I'm happy and relieved that all of my expectations were met. These guys are honest, fair, and great to deal with all around. I'd recomend them to anyone.

Beautiful boat David, congratulations on such a great purchase. That boat will do whatever you need for many years.

Few dealers get as much word of mouth as BAW's!

Ryan;

I'm in Grass Valley CA this week! Brought my fly rod as the trout fishing is great here, but night conference calls with Thailand are getting in the way.

Skiing this week?

My wife mailed the package Tuesday! Thanks!

yahhh, it is a great boat...ohhhh, yeah the wife is pretty nice too!!!

i haven't really posted my '85 anywhere yet, but PM me to make an offer...it's brand new this year and installed by myself, 6.5n software...i'd say it would be calibrated and ready for you if you didn't have the PowerSlot...

great photos of your '85, looks as in good of shape as mine...about ready to turn over 1100hrs which is nothing...talked to a guy with 3000+ hrs the other day and running great...i'm all original except for PP, the interior is just starting to show some cracks...heard you can still get the skins direct from MC...

I have the same boat !! But without the tower. I am looking into getting a tower, I cant decide between the mini tower or the full size. Is there much head room when walking under it.

OhioX9 - where are you skiin' in Akron??? my parents are on Lake Milton...need to see some pics of the X9!!!

kwood - i'd check out the weight of the tower and the speakers, because we have an '03 Pro Tournament ProStar197 that has full size tower, 4 tower speakers and subwoofer and big Caddilac engine and the wake is HUGE...one of the worst wakes i've ever skied behind at any speed...has anyone else noticed this problem, because i would love to add a Mini Tower and Slalom Rack to my '05 197???

Thanks for all the well wishes. I can't wait for the weekend to roll around. I like the black with red accent stripe. The black color is great, but I'm sure its going to take some extra effort for me to keep it looking nice.

I had a hard time deciding between the mini tower and the '04 full size tower. I'm 6'4", and all the talk of hitting your head scared me. But I also use the bimini (the factory one is really cool and worth the extra cost) a lot, so whether I got the mini or full size, the bimini would cause me to have to duck, and would always be the height limiting factor anyway. I liked the looks on the mini better and how the bimini integrates into it, so I'm happy I chose the mini.

Yes, the caprice is not the ideal tow vehicle. But hey, I could have bought a new truck, but then I'd have nothing to tow behind it, right? The tongue weight is higher on the new boat to where I need rear air shocks. It struggles to go past 60-65, but it was the small v8, and is rated to tow 5k lbs, so I do ok with it. Actually, it pulls out of the ramp with no sweat.

Can anyone tell me how to post pictures better? How do you get the pictures to show up on the post, without having to click on them to open? I uploaded them from my desktop via the attach files button below. Also, it seems like all the other pictures I see posted are so much bigger and clearer. I have iphoto, and I just downsized the pictures until they met the 140kb size limit. But they still look granier and smaller than the others.

Anyone have an idea of top speed of a 2005/2006 197 with the MCX. Also, what other engine offerings and top speed. Sea level speed is fine, but altitude (4500 ft) would be more helpful.

Thanks

I have a 05 197 with the mcx and I think my top speed is 42-43 mph. I would think the computer system would compensate for the altitude change.

Around Tahoe, tonight on the Truckee river just before the Boca exit. Hooked a big one, but it broke my line, 3lb test.

The first thing you need to do is to change the resolution of the images you want to post to 72 pixels-per-inch - it will likely be 120-300 ppi out of your camera. Then, after changing the resolution, you can change the size to something like 6 - 7 inches wide. You can then change the JPEG compression to get the file size to something like 50-100 kilobytes.

If you're going to use embedded images (limit of 5 per post) rather than attachments (1 per post) then you will need to have them somewhere in your own web storage space. Many ISP's give you 10 or more megabytes of storage as part of your internet package. You can also buy web space from places like mac.com, or you can buy image space from someplace like pbase.com or smugmug.com. Or you can buy web space from places like godaddy.com or ipowerweb.com - something like 2000 megabytes for about $7-$10 per month. Once you have your images stored on the web, you can link to them by clicking on the image button http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/images/editor/insertimage.gif in the editing window. This way, the images don't have to be stored by TMC so they allow more and bigger files.

My 05 PS197 w/MCX goes 42-43 with 3 people in the boat. Move 2 of those people to the rear of the boat and I can get 44 (you raise the bow out of the water a bit more and have less drag)

I have the PT 197 with the LQ9 and powerslot, Acme 13.5 x 17.5 prop and get about 46 MPH at 4100 feet. It will go about 48 MPH at lower elevations.
Hope this helps :D

This is more of an attempt to learn to resize pictures, but it was taken on sunday. The boat is running great, and we've put 6 hours on it in a week. I put airshocks on the car, and it tows a lot better now. The boat is really great, and seems to do everything well, even wakeboarding with a rear fat sac.

Nice ride David - that canal looks a little narrow, I hope it widens out;)
